These are battery cage for laying hen usually made of metal in modern systems, housing 3 to 8 hens. The walls are made of either solid metal or mesh, and the floor is sloped wire mesh to allow the feces to drop through and eggs to roll onto an egg-collecting conveyor belt. How does the laying hen cage increase the egg production rate?
The use of laying hen cages for raising hens already has a reasonable design. Modern cage culture systems in use today are clean, automated and efficient. Modern sheds include automatic feeding, watering, climate control maintained at 23°C, ventilation, lighting and manure and egg collection. This highly efficient system allows farmers to optimize conditions for bird health and produce eggs at relatively low cost.
First of all, the poultry in the battery cage system for egg laying hen can reasonably control the light. In the first month of laying eggs, the daily cycle is changed to 28 hours, and the light is changed to 12 hours, and the darkness is changed to 16 hours. The average egg weight can be increased by 10%, and the eggshell is firm, and there are very few small eggs.
The second point is to increase the number of feedings appropriately. The automatic poultry feeding equipment can spread the feed evenly in the trough, so that the poultry can eat sufficient and nutritious food. Modern research shows that the yolk and white of an egg are formed during the day, and the shell is formed in the afternoon or night. Laying hens should be fed twice a day, and the calcium content should be increased for dinner. The breakfast contains 19% to 19.5% of crude protein and 5.5% to 6% of calcium per kilogram of feed, which can not only adjust the egg production cycle, increase egg production, but also Save feed.
The third way is to add an appropriate amount of trace elements in the feed. Supplementing an appropriate amount of zinc in the feed of laying hens can increase various enzymes in the chicken liver and increase the egg production rate. If supplementing an appropriate amount of manganese in the feed, it can significantly reduce the number of soft-shell eggs produced by laying hens.
